I was looking at Windows 10 in S mode. It's the locked down version before Home/Pro versions of Windows 10.

But I need some answers to the following;
  • How good is S mode?
  • Can you get infected through common methods?
  • Are you restricted to WDA for AV protection?
  • Does S mode provide data storage encryption?
  • Can you use the new Chromium-Edge on S mode?
  • For a new Windows user, is it a good choice?

Limited in which aspect?
Purchasing Home/Pro license allows the user to download and run unknown/untrusted software. How is this better than S mode?
I mean S mode is limited to windows apps store apps
Probably a good choice for elderly people with no it experience or children
