Advice Request - Is K7 TotalSecurity worth it ?
I'm trying on a old laptop K7 total security. It is incredibly light even with 9 processes. My laptop comes alive, much more lighter than F-Secure. I can found one year at 11 € (E bay). I don't need a "total bullet proof protection", only a mormal one. Is it worth ? What do you thing about it. I...malwaretips.com
Der.Reisenden helped me a lot. (post #18)
If that can help you.
Which Indian Antivirus is useful & overall good??? Quick Heal / K7 / Escan ??? Please give your valuable opinion specially Indian friends.. Thanks.
No budget issue, then which is best according to your opinion ?QuickHeal is great in terms of protection and safety and k7 is also good but costly.
If you don't have a budget issue then go for k7 otherwise quickheal is best.
Yes it's very light...k7 is a best overall suite and it is very light too
They stopped using Bitdefender signatures a few years ago.Quickheal : Their TS version is a Bitdefender remapped. Their other AV versions use own engine ( lot weaker in signatures), their inhouse BB does a lot, a of lot heavy duty. I do suspect their products also use Bitdefender BB alongside their own << K7<<Escan
RAM usage of Escan? Huge or small ? Please read my computer configuration which I've already mentioned earlier... ( 4GB DDR3 RAM, Core i3 2nd Gen processor, 128 GB SSD, 500 GB HDD. )K7 is one of very very few indian vendors that have & use their own technologies, own threat lab (HQ @ Chennai) , excellent R&D, own engine & good signatures. Cons do exist, but overall would be great to use >>>>> Quick heal.
Escan use their own technologies, along side Bitdefender. Major (almost)static detections come from BD. Proactive engines are built upon their inhouse tech. However I suspect (does use Bitdefender behavior engine along side it's own + inhouse ransomware remediation engine) * . Protection is TOP NOTCH. >> K7

If I were you, I would use K7. It is very light. Products that use BD signatures tend to consume more ram and might cause slowdowns down the road.RAM usage of Escan? Huge or small ? Contact Sales / support, they sent me a Paypal link on request, as I was about buy the Infinity version, but do not have a CC.I was going to give K7 a try last night having used it a while ago - Unfortunately they don't take PayPal & can't find a trial & as I don't have a throw away card I don't like giving companies a valid card They can use in future whereas PayPal I can block.
