Just updated

After update I have a problem with an option: Bookmarks toolbar - Only show on New tab. Now I get bookmarks toolbar shown only when I open up Firefox and I don't have toolbar shown any more when I later open up New tab. I have to close and reopen Firefox to have it shown again. Does anybody else have the same problem?

Thanks you for your feedback. I checked on my other system and there it was OK also.

So it looks that update somehow broke my profile as I also didn't have Firefox home content settings available after update.

I decided to just refresh Firefox, reinstall uBlock Origin and my favorite theme and reconfigure my settings. It took me 10 minutes which is less than it would take me to figure out what went wrong.

Firefox 138.0.3 official release coming soon:
  • Fixed an issue where the browser could repeatedly crash when certain SVG effects (like blur or drop shadow) were applied to very small areas. (Bug 1924241)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when viewing websites that use WebGL. (Bug 1961191)
  • On Linux, fixed an issue where video playback would appear washed-out on Wayland when HDR support was unavailable. (Bug 1961610)
  • Fixed an issue where the \"Match Case\" shortcut `Alt+C` in the find-in-page toolbar did not toggle the checkbox as expected. (Bug 1952611)

I need performance tweaks.
You can use this.
GitHub - yokoffing/Betterfox: Firefox user.js for speed, privacy, and security. Your favorite browser, but better.
Or you might use only Fastfox
I see no need for it myself, as @lokamoka820 points out.

Frankly, I subscribe to this view and keep it simple.

Sometimes it performance slow when open a new website on new tab. But previously I used it and it was fast than current version.
I think this is a website related issue, nothing to do with Firefox, if you want try to refresh Firefox, I like to do this from time to time.

To refresh Firefox, click the menu button, select Help, and then choose More Troubleshooting Information. From there, click on "Refresh Firefox" and confirm the action to restore the browser to its default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks and passwords.
