Hello, I would like to know is voodooshield redundant? I have Bitdefender Total Security 2018.
Also I wanted to ask since my Hitman.pro free trial is expiring I wanted to know do I use Emsisoft Emergency Kit? Because with Hitman.pro free I cannot remove viruses (I can delete them but it's not enough since they probably have some reg entries and traces.)
Thanks.

The only person that can answer this is you. What is the machine used for, how is it on resources, how are your surfing habits, do you keep your machine patched, is it a shared machine, if so do you have adjustments in place such as guest accounts, last but not least, are you comfortable using your chosen software, are you knowledgeable enough to utilize advanced features or keep everything at default settings.

Many variables that other users can not answer for you.

I mostly play games on my PC. I buy games, but before I buy a game I crack it to see if I would play it because I don't want to give my money, get past 2h playing it and I can't refund it. I don't do risky stuff other than that. I am a bit afraid that this protection will let me down. That's why I am asking. I am not an expert in malware but I do know something and I know how to code a little bit.

It is against forum policy to talk about/condone illegal gained software.

Utilizing such things will prove to you quickly, that your security software can not protect you from yourself should you chose to continue risky behavior.

Okay, don't. Nor BitDefender nor VoodooShield will protect you because you will end up disabling them to install your crack/keygen. You should re-analyze your security habits before thinking about protecting your system.

Why? A software crack/activator promises you to let you use a program or game. So you will whitelist it from all analysis. Great, maybe it did activate the software, now you're using it securely. Wait, are you? Are you able to see the lines of code that crack has on it? Pretty sure no background services or actions are active? Was activating the game the only thing that tool did in your system? You whitelisted it=gave it free tour to all your files and information. Be careful.

As to answer your question, BitDefender has no anti-exe or Application Control, so if well configured can be paired with VoodooShield, but expect a general system slowdown.

If your main protection is Bitdefender, it is not redundant to run Voodooshield. Bitdefender is a traditional Av with some behavior blocking capabilities. Voodooshield is doing something quite different. What one has, the other doesn't.

if you are using illegal software/games and you want a anti exe feature like voodooshield then use kaspersky.

I never said I want an anti exe feature. I generally don't install illegal software that requires me to disable my AV. If I can't find anything that doesn't need to "1nd st3p disble ur av don't vvorry dis in'tis vrius" then I just buy it. I am not a pirate and I don't say that piracy is good. Just to be clear.

Even legit cracks will be sometimes be detected by AVs so you'll have to disable the AV anyway, that reason in particular is not a good one for why you should be avoiding someone or something, common sense is a better judge
First of all if I know that they are from 'reliable source' (to be fair there are no reliable sources) I can be sure that they are safe and I would allow them for my AV.
Secondly nobody answered me should I switch to EEK cuz my free trial for Hitman.pro is expiring and I don't really want to spend money on a second opinion scanner.
btw this post has turned into how should you pirate games. That's Illegal and I know that. But most of the games don't have a demo or a trial so that's my only way. I don't have money to waste (buying games is waste of money, I know but buying games that I like I don't regret and for me aren't waste of money) so I want to test the game.

Depends on whether you're comfortable relying on Bitdefender's behavioural analysis to detect unknown malware. If not then VoodooShield would be a worthwhile addition.

You do realize, this is possibly the most 'risky' thing you can do, right? Cracks, cracked games, keygens, all of it is almost always compromised.

Also, there is little excuse for piracy when virtually everything has a refund policy now ranging from 2 full hours of gameplay to 30 days of use. Even Amazon Kindle Books have a 7 day refund policy for readers!

First of all if I know that they are from 'reliable source'. I can be sure that they are safe and I would allow them for my AV.

No they aren't. You might think they are, but they aren't. For example Cracks.am was a VERY popular crack site for many many years (years ago), and was considered reputable. However many people don't know it was operated by the CIA and everything on the site was backdoored. The CIA unit responsible realized they had significant numbers of foreign IP's visiting cracksites, and utilized these to conduct operations. Which I argue, still takes place today on various sites.

Personally, I think anyone is insane using cracks, cracked games and/or keygens because I've seen how many are backdoored. Whitelisting those guarantees your system is compromised IMO.

@Snickers102 Why do you need bitdefender total security or voodooshield if youre gonna run these trusted torrents anyways?

I use antivirus because of human mind

If you dont know should you go with total security along with voodooshield, how you know that a torrent wont contain something malicious?

Its matter of time when youre infected, doesnt matter wich antivirus or default deny youre using

I buy games from steam. Steam's refund policy can be found here. TL;DR you can't refund games that you played for 2h. 2h isn't enough to experience what that games has to offer. I am well aware that most of them are compromised. I must state for the 3th time I AM NOT A PIRATE NOR DO I ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO DOWNLOAD ILLEGAL SOFTWARE. It's just how I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a video game that I've payed for $10 and played for only 2.1 hours

And again I was misunderstood. I do not torrent games here is my steam. I own around 20 games. I've tested only 1, Subnautica, before I bought it.
I legally buy games from DRMs.I do not test them that often. I've opened my steam account 2y ago and I know which types of game I like and which I don't like. If for some reason I am unsure whether I would like them or not I test it. It only happend ONCE
