Advice Request Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool

Hi brethren, I often get a update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool ,is this the internal part of Microsoft Defenders defense to viruses ? does it ever pop up(I haven't had a virus in so long) does it work if you have a different Anti-virus program? Just wondering any video of it in action? How does it compare to other removal tools?Thanks for any info

It's normally offered with MS monthly updates. It's a second-opinion scanner that's independent of real-time antivirus tools. I always let it run, though some users have complained that the tool uses telemetry.

It's on demand tool run by Windows Update with limited number of malware it searches for. If you have updated AV running in real time it will probably found nothing.
